Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What’s the best way to enjoy my newly purchased Boule or loaf of sourdough?

A: As soon as you get it!

(It’s an instant gratification thing for us…we can’t lie.

Pair it with a wine or a bourbon or just drop it on a charcuterie board with sausage and olives or add it to bacon and eggs and cheese on a Sunday morning; grilled cheese on a weeknight; BLTs in the summer…its up to you.)

That being said, a boule or a sandwich loaf will keep just fine in the original packaging upon purchase as long as you enjoy it in a timely manner. Please keep in mind that we don’t use any preservatives to extend shelf life.

Q: Can I put my sourdough boule or loaf in the fridge?

A: Of course! However, being that there are zero preservatives in any product, we have found it best to store it in a zip tight bag if refrigerated.

Q: can i freeze my newly purchased sourdough?

A: You sure can. For best results when you want to enjoy it:

~ Please let it thaw on the counter to room temp, then quickly run it under cold water, preheat the oven to 375 degrees and heat it up for ten minutes. That’s it!

Q: How do I extend the shelf life of my sourdough if I can’t eat it all at once?

A: Simply slice it and wrap each individual slice in plastic wrap or foil and then freeze.

Q: How do I thaw and then prepare for consumption?

A: You can either leave each slice to thaw at room temp on the counter or toast them to your liking straight from the freezer. (Certain varieties make great bruschetta or croutons.)

Q: What ingredients are in this sourdough?

A: In the starter there are simply two ingredients: organic flour and water. It then ferments on its own over a period of time. After the natural fermentation process is complete we add a bit more water, flour and salt. (That’s what makes this true sourdough!)

Q: Why choose sourdough?

A: Sourdough improves digestion and boosts nutrient absorption; it also supports gut health through beneficial lactic acid bacteria as well as lowering the glycemic index — because of the fermentation — by stabilizing your blood sugar.

Q: How much do the loaves weigh?

A: All boules & loaves are 900 grams or roughly two pounds.

Q: When I order online, why does it inform me that the order cannot be completed?

A: You are most likely out of our preprogrammed zip code parameters. If this happens, please contact us and we will do our best to make accommodations.
